About PASS

Built in Ethiopia, for Ethiopian students

Personal Assisted Study Service — grades 9–12 and the national exam.

How PASS began

The foundational concept of PASS emerged while the founder was attending the 5 Million Ethiopian Coders Initiative. While participating in its AI and software development training, he realized the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and scalable software design for public education — the initiative showed how digital tools can spread skills to millions of citizens at once.

Eskindir recognized that the same scalable digital architecture could solve the educational bottleneck facing secondary school students. The core idea was born: an AI-driven, app-based study engine delivering personal tutoring and national exam preparation to large numbers of students at the same time.

Partnering with senior software architect Yared Yaregal, the team turned this concept into PASS (Personal Assisted Study Service) — software built directly around the Ethiopian national exam syllabus.
