Who we are
PASS (Personal Assisted Study Service) is a study platform for Ethiopian students in grades 9–12, operated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. You can reach us at aklile.org.
What we collect
Account information: your email address, display name, grade and preferred language.
Study activity: chapters you mark complete, quiz scores, time spent and exam practice answers.
Payment submissions: the Telebirr transaction ID and payer phone number you enter when upgrading. We never see or store your Telebirr PIN or bank credentials.
Institution codes you redeem, so we can grant the seats your school paid for.
Partner enquiries: if a school or tutor submits the signup form, we store the contact details provided.
How we use it
To give you access to textbooks, chapters, exam practice and AI tutoring.
To show your progress and keep your settings across devices.
To verify payments and institution licences and to grant Premium access.
To send account emails such as sign-up confirmation, password reset and sign-in links.
AI tutoring
Questions you send to the AI Tutor are forwarded to our AI provider to generate an answer. Do not include personal or sensitive information in your questions.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the app: our cloud database and authentication provider, our email delivery provider and our AI provider. Schools with an institution licence can see that a seat has been used, not your study content.
Retention and your rights
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can edit your profile in Settings, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us; we will remove it within 30 days.
Children
PASS is intended for secondary-school students. If you are under 18, please use PASS with the permission of a parent, guardian or teacher.
Security
Access to your data is protected by authentication and row-level database rules, so you can only read your own records. Textbook files are served through signed, expiring links.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above.
